NO delivery technology from Millimed Holding, Inc. enables minimally- or non-invasive, rapid and efficient NO administration to specific vascular areas. In combination with other Millimed technology, controlled delivery of nitric oxide molecules can be obtained.


-- Nano-spinning enables precise polymeric distribution and control ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nano spinning by Millimed Holding, Inc. is designed to add an extremely high surface area to polymeric surfaces by creating fibers with diameters between 5 and 1000 nm. The nano-spinning elution matrix enables the design of controlled drug devices with extremely high surface areas, controlled elution kinetics with varied fiber sizes and polymer materials, and very high drug elution capabilities with the use of low drug amounts.

Millimed Holding Inc. has developed low flow-rate atomizing nozzles that precisely control material delivery, enabling a controlled and uniform drug layer down to approximately 1 µm in thickness. Ultra-thin multi-layer coatings can be created with controllable and unique drug release characteristics.


 

Carotid Therapeutics & Stroke Prevention MIB MarketTrack Updates --


-- MO.MA cerebral protection device ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The MO.MA is an exciting new device in Carotid Therapeutics and Stroke Prevention developed by Invatec Innovative Technologies. This endovascular clamp is a proximal embolic protection device that is one of a few emerging alternatives to distal filters. Highly favorable results have been observed in the MO.MA and PRIAMUS clinical trials.


-- MO.MA Trial - MO.MA cerebral protection device ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The MO.MA study was a multicenter EU registry designed with a total enrollment of 158 patients, where 75% of the patients were high risk. Final published results as of April 2005 show a 0.0% major stroke and death rate, and a 2.5% minor stroke rate.


-- PRIAMUS Trial - MO.MA cerebral protection device ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The PRIAMUS Trial was a multicenter Italian registry designed as a follow-up to the MO.MA trial. In total, 416 patients were enrolled, 63.5% of which were high risk. At 30-days device positioning was 100% effective and the trial experienced a 0.0% death and major stroke rate, and a 2.5% minor stroke rate (Publication date June 2005).
